Ford to make Fiesta in Mexico

Automobile manufacturer Ford has decided to revive its subcompact car Fiesta to the United States. It will soon begin to manufacture in Mexico. Fiesta is well known in Europe, Asia, and South America, selling total of 12 million since it was introduced in 1976. However, it was only sold in America from 1978 to 1980. Ford has selected Mexico due to its cheap human labor. However, the decision could be a blow to unionized U.S. plants. Many analysts claim that US is already competent enough to make small cars in the country and still make money. It is known that most of the small cars sold in the US are made overseas. Fiesta is a crucial part of Ford to make the firm a globalized one, and sell same versions to many countries such as Europe, Asia, and South America.
I think Ford’s intention to make another version of Fiesta is a good idea. Fiesta was only sold in the US in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Many people would miss the small car that can be economical. Nowadays, especially in the times when fuel prices are rising steeply, subcompacts are the most favorites by many people. I think Fiesta could be a big hit in the US once it is unveiled. But, before selling, I think a good marketing strategy will be needed. Since it was not sold in America for more than 20 years, many people might have forgotten. It is crucial to promote actively through TV and sponsoring various sports events. Also, holding an event concerning about the History of Fiesta to recall what Fiesta was back in the days. Moreover, giving out Fiesta for free to people who solve certain questions or randomly selected will also draw people’s attention.
