‘Hey, Starbucks, How About Coffee Cubes?'

Recently, Starucks has launched an online community where customers can put up suggestions about the service, new menus or products that it needs to improve on. MyStarbucksIdea.com is the website and many people participate on it. Starbucks has followed the footsteps of Dell Inc, which started to implement online community board before it did via SalesForce.com. Online community board varies from getting ideas from people to giving information on new menus, services, news etc. Many people can even write how they feel about the new menu and services, and share their comments with people around the world. In some cases, customers give ideas like how to prevent from waiting in long lines, what are good coffee ingredients, etc. People can actually voice themselves on what they regularly use and show their high intentions of improving it.

I highly respect with what the Starbucks is using to hear people’s voices. It is really important for a firm to get ideas and feedbacks from its customers. In this fast-trend-changing era, it is the people’s voice that makes the change. When actively listen and instill the feedbacks and ideas from people, a firm can improve the services and sales by jotting down its pros and cons. Moreover, there are many intelligent and creative people in the world. Many people would come up with some intelligent and creative ideas that no one has ever thought of. Those ideas can be a great source of improvement and eventually would be a great help in increasing the amount of sales. Furthermore, people these days like to express their feelings. When many of them actively express their feelings on the services and products that they have experienced or used, they would relieve their stress and have a sense that they are linked up with people who have same opinions as they do. In this case, most likely they would go back and experience or buy again and try to write down the feelings again in order to be a part of the community. They would also want to see whether their opinions have taken places.
