MLB, One A Day Sign Marketing Deal

Pharmaceutical giant Bayer HealthCare has signed a 4-year deal with Major League Baseball. Bayer’s main selling product, One A Day multivitamin, will be the official multivitamin of the League. One A Day will also be helping out MLB with alliance with TV, print, and internet, stadium signage and packaging. It will be at the presence when there will be an All-Star game, but will not be showed on ads. Signing will also help Prostate Cancer Foundation where every time there is a strike-out in a game, 10 dollars will be donated to the foundation. The pharmaceutical giant has said that its’ main target is men over 50, and estimated that one-in-six-men will be affected. It also had a tremendous timing of the deal where it is said that there will be many record breakings this year.

I think what Bayer HealthCare has come up with is a great idea. Major League is considered one of the most lucrative sports leagues in the world and many men like to watch either on TV or at the stadium. Especially, when the prime target is men over 50, MLB is the best place to invest in. Baseball has already become a prime culture in America. People over 50 like to go to the stadiums where the game goes on for at least over 2 hours. They would bring their children and grandchildren, and watch the game as they are relaxing and enjoying their time together. At the baseball stadiums, there are many events to enjoy for families, and places to go for them. They would naturally have the chance to see and experience One A Day vitamins, and considering their age and health, they would most likely buy those. This surely is the most attractive point of investing. Also, by signing with MLB, Bayer is inscribing an image on people’s mind that it is practicing altruism. It’ll donate 10 dollars every time there is a strike-out in a game to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. This is charity, and people will have a good image of the firm. Moreover, this year, there will be many record breaking games. Thus, Bayer has put out a 1-million prize for the record breaker. This surely will also attract many people’s attention.
