Hyundai Kia, Microsoft form tech partnership

Hyundai Kia Automotive Group and Microsoft Corp. have signed a partnership deal to work together between a car and computer software maker. Kia believes that IT and electronics play important roles in auto industry, and the majority of technological advances in the auto industry are from two areas. From 2010 in North America, Hyundai Kia vehicles will be putting a voice-activated automobile audio system that allows portable devices like MP3 players and mobile phones to be linked up to the car’s system. Moreover, the two firms will be collectively taking part in motor shows and Consumer Electronics Show together next year.
I think this is a great deal between two companies. Hyundai Kia is becoming one of the most successful automobile companies in the world with two manufacturing plants in North America. And Microsoft Corp, without a doubt, is the world’s most successful IT firm. Especially nowadays, in the era of IT and electronics, Hyundai Kia could benefit a lot by having MP3s and mobiles phones connected to the vehicles. In doing such, not only people would be able to listen to music, watch movies, record voices, and chat with friends and families while driving with high-quality, they can also upgrade the software and possibly download music and programs through internet. Microsoft can try new technologies to open the way for the vehicle-support industry, and make its brand known by taking part in motor shows.
