Samsung, LG Collide Head-on in US Mobile Market

The CTIA (Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association) wireless industry trade show, which is North America's largest wireless event, held on April 1 to 3 at Las Vegas. Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are participated this show to boost their mobile sales in the United States.

Samsung Electronic.
Samsung Electronic, the world's number 2 handset manufacturer will introduce "Soul" phone that is this year's strategic to the world's largest consumer electronics market. It is slider type handset with a touch panel will feature Bluetooth 2.0 and 5-megapixel camera functions. The phone is already marketed to customers in Europe and it will be available in April. Samsung electronics also has a plan to customize products for U.S. wireless operators such as "Flipshot"(Verizon), "Blackjack2"(AT&T), "Katalyst"(T-Mobile), and "m520"(Sprint). The Samsung's slogan for this show is 'Mobile for Every Lifestyle' and it means that they will maintain the growth in the U.S. with customized products and technologies. Samsung has set this year's mobile growth in the United States at a 4 to 6 percent according to the data.

LG Electronics.
LG Electronics, the world's number 5 maker of mobile phones after Sony Ericsson developed the touch screen phones to catch up with Sony Ericsson. They will introduce a full touch screen "Vu" and "EnV2" which is following its previous "EnV" mobile that has sold over 3 million since November 2006 at the show. LG Electronics will focus on touch based technologies.

Opinion.
The trade show is one kind of promotion and it offers an excellent forum for finding leads. It is because buyers who choose to be exposed to products and services offered by potential suppliers in an industry are attend. It is easy to appeal the audiences in the trade show, because the targets already have interest on the products. Samsung Electronic and LG Electronics choose a trade show to introduce their mobiles and it was good idea. Most of the U.S. mobile company members will attend and this is a chance to grow more in U.S. mobile market.
